Lillian Rienstra was born and raised in New Hampshire, where she fell in love with photographing anything that made her feel something. Her inspiration comes from simply perceiving the world around her, picturing alternate realities and mashing together surrealist landscapes. She is always striving to turn imagination into reality, bringing creativity and fun into everything she photographs. Lillian constructs imagery that is strongly emphasized by flowing forms and bright colors. Physical and digital manipulation allows for her to elevate an image into a new world of possibility.
Experimenting in Photoshop introduced Lillian to the world of image editing and she enjoys working professionally as a retoucher. Working for some of beauty’s best (Fenty Beauty, Ole Henriksen Skincare, r.e.m. beauty, and more), Lillian understands more than most about how there is no better feeling for an artist than to see their conceptualized work in finality, and she wants to deliver that final step.
Lillian earned a BFA in Photographing and Imaging Arts from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2024.
